Artist of the week

Devendra Banhart
Devendra Banhart Live @ Coachella 2009

Devendra Banhart (born May 30, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter and visual artist. Banhart was born in Texas and grew up in Venezuela, until he returned to California as a teenager. He realised his first album in 2002 and has a new album coming out this October - What Will We Be. Banhart is associated with the New Weird America genre. His style has been described as psych folk, avant-folk, freak folk and alternative folk. I've been following him for a couple of years now and he just keeps getting better, there’s really nothing better to listen to on a hot summers day with a beer in hand and the earth beneath your bare feet.
